How does hair removal work?
Elos hair removal uses laser or braod spectrum light and bi-polar frequency energies to damage the hair follicle. This disables the follicle from growing hair, which means that gradually over several treatments, there is a permanent reduction in the amount of hair in that area.
What is the advantage of elos hair removal system?
There are no exclusionary criteria based on the skin type or hair color (The Treatment approach for apigmented hairs is different that treating dark hair see below).
How is the hair reduction treatment effective for apigmented hair?
The Treatment protocol for white, red, grey, and blond hair is different than The Treatment approach for dark hair. Multiple passes are required at maximum RF energy setting in order to disable these follicles. People may achieve noticeable reduction in the amount of apigmented hair with 8-12 treatment sessions. There is a higher non-response rate with these hair types when compared to darkly pigmented hair; approximately 3 in 10 people may not have any reduction in blond hair. These non-responders should be identified after the 3rd treatment as evidenced by no extrusion of treated hairs by 1 month following the 3rd treatment session. Coarse white, red, and grey hair seems to respond better than fine blonde peach fuzz.
How effective is The Treatment?
In a study which included skin types II-V showed 35-42% clearance 3 months after a single treatment. Post treatment hair extrusion occurs 2-3 weeks. Some hair shafts can be pulled out of the follicle immediately post treatment without resistence; indicating disengagement from the follicle while the hair shaft is still intact; the bipolar RF energy effect is clearly evident.
Is The Treatment safe?
Treatment is very safe for the skin. There are many advances in the technology that makes elos one of the safest hair removal systems available for all skin colors. There are no long term health hazards from laser or electric energies used in elos technology. How is elos hair removal treatment tolerated?

What results can one expect from the elos treatment?
Each treatment will result in less hair coming back, as well as hair growing progressively lighter in color, finer and slower with each treatment. It will take multiple treatments to affect all the follicles growing in an area. Most people achieve satisfactory clearance after 6-8 treatments, however individual results vary depending on medical and genetic factors. Lighter colored hair may require more treatments than darker colored hair.
How frequently do I need hair removal?
The Treatments are usually performed every 2-3 months, but this depends on individual factors as it pertains to each person.
What happens after each elos hair removal treatment?
Temporary pinkness in the skin lasts a very short time, and most people return to work or normal activities immediately after treatment. The treated area will “shed” some hairs over the next 2-4 weeks, and you may experience a period of hairlessness in the area while you wait for your next treatment.

What is the average number of treatments for hair reduction of dark hair?
